server at the same time that a short audio clip, such as a keyclick, is played
locally by the thin client, the Microsoft Windows Terminal Server terminal session may stop responding to
keyboard user input or mouse user input for 5 to 20 seconds. This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
CAUSEThis problem occurs because of a race condition. A race condition occurs between redirected audio that is played by
the Terminal Server client and local audio that is played on the Windows CE operating
system. When this condition occurs, an event signal is missed. The missed signal causes a time-out
delay to occur. During the delay, user input is not processed. RESOLUTIONSoftware update informationA supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 5.0 Core OS QFE 912200.
