INTRODUCTION

This article discusses a software update that enables the Host Access Management Agent (HAMA) for Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) 2003 to automatically resume an IBM Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) user account after a password set operation.

This software update adds support for automatically resuming IBM RACF user accounts after a password set operation.

This feature is useful in customer environments in which MIIS and the HAMA are used to centrally manage passwords for RACF user accounts. RACF user accounts may be in a revoked state in RACF after a password set operation. RACF accounts that are in the revoked state must be resumed in RACF before end-users can use their RACF user accounts.

Configuration information

After you apply the software update, you must enable the feature by adding the ResumeAcctOnPwSet key to the Miiserver.exe.config configuration file. The Miiserver.exe.config file typically exists in the following path:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Identity Integration Server\Bin

The Miiserver.exe.config file must be updated with the following information:

The ResumeAcctOnPwSet key must be set to True if you want RACF user accounts to automatically resume after a password set operation. If the ResumeAcctOnPwSet key is set to False, the affected RACF user accounts remain in a revoked state in RACF after a password set operation.
