Microsoft has released the Outlook 2002 post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package for Microsoft Outlook 2002. This article describes the following information about the hotfix package:

INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Outlook 2002 issue that is fixed in the Outlook 2002 post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package that is dated January 18, 2006.

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • You download an e-mail message in Outlook 2002. This e-mail message contains an attachment. If the attachment file size is larger than 20 megabytes (MB), the e-mail message is downloaded. However, the attachment is dropped from the e-mail message when the e-mail message is copied to a personal folders (.pst) file.

    Note Attachments that have a file size that is smaller than 20 MB are copied with the e-mail message to a .pst file as expected.

Prerequisites

  • The optimized version and the full-file version of this hotfix is a post-Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) hotfix. To install the hotfix, you must have Office XP SP3 installed.

  • The full-file version of this hotfix is also the administrative version of this hotfix.
