On This PageSYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1), when you try to use the Rendom.exe utility to change the NetBIOS name of a domain, you receive the following error message: rendom /execute : error 13 Waiting for DCs to reply. Waiting for DCs to reply. Failed to execute script on dcname.domainname : 13 1 server contacted, 1 server returned Errors CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Active Directory directory service tries to create an empty root object.
