Systems Management Server 2003 Account Review Tool overview

The Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 Account Review Tool is a security assessment tool for SMS 2003 site server installations. The tool assesses SMS 2003 defined accounts on SMS 2003 site servers and SMS 2003 database servers.

The tool provides the following information:

• reports errors on environmental constraints.
• reports warnings on potential account permission issues.
• reports warnings potential account configuration issues.

The Systems Management Server 2003 Account Review Tool is available on the Microsoft Corporation Web site.

The Account Review Tool is in a Microsoft Authenticode signed self-extracting executable format. The file is named SMS2003_ART.exe. To install the tool, do the following:

1. Download SMS2003_ART.exe from the Microsoft Web site to a location on the local computer.
2. To start the self-extraction process, double-click SMS2003_ART.exe.
3. Select a destination location for the tool.
   Note The recommended destination for the Account Review Tool is the SMS/bin/i386 folder or similar a similar folder on the SMS 2003 site server.
4. Run ART.exe

The Account Review Tool can run only on the following releases of SMS.

• Systems Management Server 2003 (no service pack)
• Systems Management Server 2003 SP1
• Systems Management Server 2003 SP2
