Article ID: 915042 - Last Review: February 24, 2006 - Revision: 1.2 FRSM quota information does not appear in the NTFS file system Quota Entries window, and NTFS file system disk quota information does not appear in FRSM in Windows Server 2003 R2SYMPTOMSYou use File Server Resource Manager (FRSM) in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 to configure quotas. You configure these quotas to limit the amount of data that is stored on a folder, on a share, or on a volume. However, when you use NTFS file system quotas to view disk quota information in Microsoft Windows Explorer, this quota information does not appear. For example, when you open the Quota Entries window, the results for quotas that are configured in FRSM do not appear.
Similarly, when you use NTFS file system disk quotas to configure quotas on NTFS file system volumes, the quota information does not appear in FRSM. CAUSE
This behavior occurs because FRSM works independently from NTFS file system quotas. The two systems are not designed to work with each other for quota management. Therefore, we recommend that you use only one system or the other for quota management. MORE INFORMATIONFile Server Resource Manager in Windows Server 2003 R2 is a suite of tools. This suite of tools includes quota management features that are better than the features that are in previous Windows NTFS file system disk quota management systems.
