Description of the Microsoft Windows registry SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. You restart a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer. You notice that the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Client service does not start. Then, you try to start this service by using the Services snap-in. When this scenario occurs, you receive the following error message: Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for
deletion

CAUSEThis problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
RESOLUTIONWarning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method.
