Error message when you try to open a company or you try to create a company in Small Business Accounting 2006, in Accounting Professional, and in Accounting Express: "General network error has occurred, DB cannot be created"
When you try to open a company or you try to create a company in Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting 2006, in Microsoft Office Accounting Professional, and in Microsoft Office Accounting Express, you may receive the following error message:
General network error has occurred, DB cannot be created.
Method 1: Start the MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ service in Small Business Accounting 2006
To start the MICROSOFTSMLBIZ service, follow these steps.
Note The MICROSOFTSMLBIZ instance is the instance of Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (also known as MSDE 2000) that is installed with Small Business Accounting 2006.
Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
In the Services dialog box, right-click MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ, and then click Properties.
In the MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ Properties dialog box, click the General tab.
From the Startup Type list, select Automatic, and then click OK.
Right-click MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ, and then click Start.
Method 3: Start the SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ) service in Accounting Professional and in Accounting Express
Note The instance of MSSMLBIZ is the instance of Microsoft SQL Server Express that is installed together with Accounting Professional and with Accounting Express. If you are not using the default instance of MSSMLBIZ for these versions, you must verify that particular instance is started.
Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
In the Services dialog box, right-click SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ), and then click Properties.
In the MSSQL$MSSMLBIZ Properties dialog box, click the General tab.
In the Startup Type list, select Automatic, and then click OK.
Right-click SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ), and then click Start.
