SYMPTOMS

On a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer, the Microsoft COM+ system process may crash when you register a COM+ component. Additionally, the following error message is logged in the event log:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7031
Date: Date
Time: Time
User: N/A
Computer: ComputerName
Description: The COM+ System Application service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 1000 milliseconds: Restart the service.
