More information

Requirements for Groove installation

To install Groove Virtual Office, your computer must meet the minimum system requirements, and you must be logged on with administrative rights.

For more information, see the following:
System requirements

If you are updating from an earlier version of Groove

If you have Groove Virtual Office 1.0, Groove Virtual Office1.1, or Groove Virtual Office1.2 installed, you must upgrade to Groove Workspace 2.5 before you upgrade to Groove Virtual Office 3.x. If you are currently using Groove Workspace 2.x, you will need a new license.

For more information about which license to purchase, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

If installation from the Groove Web site fails, try the One-Click installation. To do this, visit the following Groove Web site:
http://components.groove.net/Groove/DailyBuilds/latest/OCI/Setup.htm

If you use programs to guard against spyware programs or adware programs on the computer

We recommend that you temporarily shut down any programs that help guard against spyware programs or adware programs before you install Groove.

If a Windows stop error occurs during or after the Groove installation

A Windows stop error on a blue screen indicates a problem with the hardware. For example, hardware problems may include problems with a hard disk, a hard disk controller, a driver, or memory. Although the Groove Virtual Office installation cannot directly cause a Windows stop error, it may access the bad hardware or driver and trigger this error. For more information about your problem, visit the following Microsoft Support Knowledge Base Advanced Search Web site:
http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1
Type the phrase stop error, and include the exact error code that you receive.

If the Groove installation ends in Feature or Component Transfer Error 0

InstallShield is the third-party solution that Groove Networks uses to package and to publish the Groove Virtual Office installation kit. InstallShield returns a component transfer error when it cannot run correctly. InstallShield has been unable to provide a fix for this problem. However, a workaround is available.

If the installation finishes, but Groove does not start

If Groove does not start after you install Groove Virtual Office 3.1, do not try to uninstall Groove, and do not try to re-install an earlier version.
