INTRODUCTION

This article describes the availability of the Windows Desktop Search: Add-in for Outlook saved mail (.msg file) indexing. This Add-in enables you to easily find all Microsoft Outlook .msg files, and to search the content within those files.

This Add-in lets you search all elements of your .msg files that include the following:
Message body
Subject
From
From name
From address
To name
To address
CC name
CC address
Doc title prefix
Sent date
Received date
Primary date
Conversation ID
Attachment names
Additionally, if an attachment is present in the .msg file, Windows Desktop Search indexes and searches the content of the attachment. By downloading this Add-in, Windows Desktop Search will index Outlook .msg files when your computer is idle, or when you click Index Now. As soon as the index is updated, you can immediately search your .msg files.
