SYMPTOMS

When you examine a style in the style inspector in Microsoft Office Word 2007, the style inspector does not display the name of the default font for that style. Instead, (Default) appears as the font in the style inspector.

CAUSE

(Default) appears as the font because your style is formatted to use an Office 2007 theme. When your style is formatted to use Office 2007 themes, you can change the look of your document by applying a different theme. If the theme is defined to use a different font, your document will change to reflect the settings in the theme. In this situation, (Default) represents whichever font is defined in the theme.

WORKAROUND

To view the font name, follow these steps:
1. Click the Page Layout tab.
2.In the Themes group, move the pointer over Fonts. The ScreenTip displays the heading font and the body font for the current theme.
