Error message when you open a Word document on a computer that is running Windows XP with Service Pack 2: "Error! The embedded control cannot be loaded"

SYMPTOMS

On a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2), you open a Microsoft Word document that contains an embedded control. After you do this, the embedded control is not displayed. Additionally, you may receive the following error message:

Error! The embedded control cannot be loaded

CAUSE

This problem occurs because there is an issue in the Gdi32.dll file.

RESOLUTION
