An add-in for Microsoft Word does not work as expected, or it is not installed in Word 2007

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade to Microsoft Office Word 2007, one of the following symptoms may occur:
An add-in, such as Adobe Acrobat 6, that was installed and working as expected in an earlier version of Microsoft Word may no longer work as expected. Additionally, you receive an error message that resembles the following error message:
Run time error 48

File not found: pdfmword.dll
When you try to install an add-in, such as Adobe Acrobat 6, the add-in is not installed in Word 2007.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the add-in is incompatible with Word 2007.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Try to reinstall the add-in

To resolve this issue, try to reinstall the add-in. If the add-in appears to be installed successfully, start Word 2007, and then try to use the add-in. If you cannot use the add-in, use Method 2. Also, if the add-in does not appear to be installed, use Method 2.

Method 2: Install an updated version of the add-in

Contact the provider of the add-in to obtain an updated version of the add-in that is compatible with Word 2007.
