On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you use proxy autoconfiguration for Internet Explorer connectivity in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows HTTP Services (WinHTTP) may not connect through the proxy server. CAUSEThis problem occurs because WinHTTP does not read the location of the proxy autoconfiguration .pac file from the registry.
The automatic configuration script file writes this location to the registry. RESOLUTIONService pack informationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows Server 2003.
