Error message when you publish a blog that includes a picture in Word 2007: "Unable to post a picture"

SYMPTOMS

When you publish a blog that includes a picture in Microsoft Office Word 2007, you experience the following symptoms:
  • The picture is not posted to the FTP Web site or to the HTTP Web site.
  • The blog is not published to your blog account.
  • You receive the following error message:
    Unable to post a picture. Please ensure that your account information is correct and try again.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the location where the picture is to be posted does not allow anonymous logons.

For example, this issue may occur if the picture should be posted to an FTP Web site that requires that you provide your user credentials. When you publish the blog, you are not prompted for your user credentials for the FTP Web site.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, post the picture to a location that allows anonymous logons when you publish the blog.

To change the location where the picture is posted when you publish the blog, follow these steps:
  1. Start Word 2007.
  2. Open the blog.
  3. Under Blog Post, click Manage Accounts in the Blog section.
  4. Click the blog account, and then click Change.
  5. Click Picture Options, select My own server from Picture provider list box, type the location of the Web site that allows anonymous logons, and then click OK
