SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You create a table in a Microsoft Office Word 2007 document. The table that you created contains a row that is formatted as an exact row height. Then, you insert a larger table as a nested table in that row.

When you preview the document, the nested table may appear truncated. This behavior is expected because of the exact row height format. Then, you print the document. In this scenario, the complete nested table prints unexpectedly when you print the document.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Change the row height of the host table

To change the row height of the table that contains the nested table, follow these steps:
  1. Click to the left of the table that contains the nested table.
  2. Under Table Tools, click the Layout tab.
  3. In the Table group, click Select, and then click Select Table.
  4. In the Table group, click Properties.
  5. On the Row tab, click to clear the Specify height check box under Size.

Method 2: Format the text in the nested table as hidden

To format the text in the nested table as hidden, follow these steps:
  1. Click in a row of the nested table.
  2. Under Table Tools, click the Layout tab.
  3. In the Table group, click Select, and then click Select Table.
  4. Click the Home tab.
  5. In the Font group, click Font Dialog.
  6. On the Font tab, click to select the Hidden check box, and then click OK.
