Error message when you try to shut down Windows: "End Program-WMS Idle"

When you try to shut down Microsoft Windows, you receive the following error message:If you click End Now, Windows does not shut down. Additionally, the error message remains on the screen.

This problem occurs if Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 is running when you try to shut down Windows. Communicator 2005 opens a MAPI session that remains open when you try to shut down Windows.

How to obtain the hotfix

This issue is fixed in the Communicator 2005 Hotfix Package that is dated July 18, 2006. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

To work around this problem, follow these steps:

1. Exit all programs that are running.
2. Right-click the Communicator 2005 icon in the notification area.
3. Click Exit.
