The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. SYMPTOMSWhen you distribute a campaign activity by using the "E-mail via Mail Merge" functionality in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook, the "E-mail via Mail Merge" functionality does not work as expected.
When this problem occurs, the e-mail message correctly appears in the "Sent Items" folder. But the e-mail message does not contain a Microsoft Dynamics CRM tracking token. Therefore, the e-mail message is not created in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
CAUSEThis problem occurs because the c_wszUserEmailAddress localization string is incorrect in the MailMerge.cpp file. This string does not match the Word localization string in the "Word::MailMergeDataFields" object. RESOLUTIONThis problem is fixed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Update Rollup 2.
