SYMPTOMS

When you use the Form Assistant to select a value for a lookup field in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, the focus may remain in the lookup field. But the value for the lookup field is updated as expected. This problem occurs if the OnChange event of the lookup field contains JavaScript code that forces the focus to another field on the form.

For example, assume that there is an OnChange event on the Subject lookup field for the Case entity. The OnChange event has the following JavaScript code enabled.
crmForm.all.productserialnumber.SetFocus();
When you create a new case, you select the Subject lookup field. After this value is selected, the focus does not change to the Serial Number field. The focus remains on the Subject field. However, the Form Assistant correctly shows the serial number values.

RESOLUTION
