The Default Beep sound plays when you close the Media Center window in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
Article ID: 921402 - View products that this article applies to.
After you install Microsoft Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, the sound that is assigned to the Default Beep program event plays every time that you close the Media Center window. By default, this sound is the Windows XP Ding.wav sound. However, a different sound may play if you assigned a different sound to the Default Beep program event. For example, a different sound may play if you have changed the Windows theme.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
