You need not create a data connection to browse a SQL Server database. If you do create a SQL Server data connection for use in code, it will appear under the Data Connections node. MORE INFORMATIONThe Microsoft SQL Server instances are not listed as subnodes under the Servers node in the Server Explorer view in Visual Studio 2005. The SQL Server instances are listed as subnodes under the Servers node in the Server Explorer view in Microsoft Visual Studio 2003. However, this feature is removed in Visual Studio 2005.
