FIX: The HttpListenerRequest.InputStream.EndRead method does not return the actual number of bytes that are read from a stream in a .NET 2.0 Framework application

When a Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0-based application calls the HttpListenerRequest.InputStream.EndRead method to wait for a pending asynchronous read to finish, the HttpListenerRequest.InputStream.EndRead method does not return the actual number of bytes that are read from the stream. Instead, the HttpListenerRequest.InputStream.EndRead returned the incorrect number of bytes that have been read.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. How to uninstall the .NET Framework 2.0 hotfix

To uninstall the .NET Framework 2.0 hotfix, use the Add or Remove Programs item in Control Panel. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
2. Click to select the Show Updates check box.
3. In the Currently installed programs list, click the hotfix that you want to uninstall under Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, and then click Remove.

Note Do not use a restore point in System Restore to uninstall the .NET Framework 2.0 hotfix.
