You have to click an ActiveX control more than one time to use it in Project Web Access for Project Server 2003

When you try to use an ActiveX control in Microsoft Project Web Access for Microsoft Office Project Server 2003, you have to click the control more than one time to use it. Additionally, when you rest the pointer on the control, you receive the following message:

This behavior may occur after you install the Microsoft Internet Explorer ActiveX software update that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

This software update may be installed on computers that are running Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 with Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1).

This problem was first fixed in a hotfix that is now contained in a service pack. If you installed the latest Project Server 2003 service pack, you do not have to install the hotfix.

Hotfix information

This behavior no longer occurs after you install the Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 post-Service Pack 2a hotfix package that is dated July 31, 2006. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This problem was first corrected in Project Server 2003 Service Pack 3.

The hotfix package that is described in the "Resolution" section will change this behavior in the most common pages in Project Web Access. This includes the following pages:

• Project Center (PortfolioView.asp)
• Project Drilldown (ProjectReport.asp)
• Resource Center (ResourcesRegisterView.asp)
• New Task (NewTaskpage.asp)
• Tasks (TasksPage.asp)
• Updates (TaskTransactions.asp)
