SYMPTOMS

When you try to install client certificates by using the Microsoft Windows HTTP Services (WinHTTP) Certificate Configuration Tool (Winhttpcertcfg.exe) in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the Personal Information Exchange (.pfx) certificates are not added to a certificate store.

Note You do not receive an error message when this problem occurs.

CAUSE

This problem is caused by the way in which the Winhttpcertcfg.exe tool enumerates the list of certificates.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows Server 2003. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
