INTRODUCTION

List of issues that this hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you check the spelling of French language text in an Outlook 2003 e-mail message, the spelling checker in Outlook 2003 may incorrectly change the text if the misspelled word includes an apostrophe.

For example, you check the spelling of the following text in Outlook 2003:
    c'estr pour vous que j'écriis
The spell checker may incorrectly change the text to the following text:
    est pour vous que écris
In this example, you expect the text to be changed to the following text:
    c'est pour vous que j'écris
Note This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
    • You do not use Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor.
    • The e-mail message is in the HTML message format.
