How to remove the update package for BITS

To remove the update package after you install it on a computer that is running Windows XP, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
3. In the list of currently installed programs, click Update for Windows XP (KB923845), and then click Remove.
4. Follow the instructions to remove the update package from the computer.
5. Restart the computer.

To remove the update package after you install it on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
