Message attached with winmail.dat when sending mail from Exchange to Lotus Notes through SMTP Connector

SYMPTOMS

If we use SMTP connector to send mail from Exchange to Lotus Notes provided the following condition exist:
1.Contacts has been created through Lotus Notes Connector Directory Synchronization or third party utility.
2.Configured the Target Addresses of the Contact as SMTP address.

you will receive the message with winmail.dat as attachment

RESOLUTION

If the Contact is being created through Lotus Notes Connector Directory Synchronization or third party utility then the mAPIRecipient and InternetEncoding attributes does not sets.

Open properties of the Contact using Adsiedit and change both the attributes as follows:

mAPIRecipient: False
InternetEncoding: 1310720
