A data graphic may not be updated when you delete a Shape Data property in Visio Professional 2007

In Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2007, when you delete a Shape Data property of a shape in a drawing, the data graphic that is applied to the shape may not be updated. Therefore, the Shape Data property still appears on the data graphic.

To work around this behavior, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Reapply the data graphic

After you delete the Shape Data property, click the shape in the drawing. Then, click the appropriate data graphic in the Data Graphics task pane. When you do this, the data graphic will be reapplied. The Shape Data property will no longer appear on the data graphic.

Method 2: Delete the data graphic item of the data graphic

1. Right-click the shape, point to Data, and then click Edit Data Graphic.
2. Select the appropriate data field of the data graphic item. For example, select the data field for the Shape Data property. Then, click Delete.
3. Click OK.
