SYMPTOMSAfter you upgrade to a 2007 Microsoft Office program or suite from an earlier version of Office, shortcuts from the earlier version of Office still appear on the Start menu. However, no action occurs when you click the shortcut. CAUSEThis issue occurs because shortcuts that were created after the earlier version of Office was installed are not removed during the upgrade. The 2007 Office Setup program uses the Setup program from the earlier version of Office to remove shortcuts that were created when the earlier version of Office was installed. If a shortcut was created after the earlier version of Office was installed, the Setup program from that earlier version does not remove the shortcut during the upgrade. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, use the 2007 Office Removal Wizard. This wizard is included in the 2003 Office Resource Kit.
