On This PageSYMPTOMSOn a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP Service
Pack 2 (SP2), you may receive a Stop error message when an application draws
the bitmap by using the mask. The Stop error message resembles the
following: 0x50 {e4939000, 0, bf971fe6, 1}
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
CAUSEThis problem occurs because some functions in Windows XP SP2
access invalid locations that exceed the mask bitmap buffer.
The buffer is exceeded because the pointer is increased more than
is required. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
