INTRODUCTION

Microsoft has released an update for Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services. This update includes updated time zone definitions for daylight saving time (DST) start dates and end dates for the United States. This update also includes other fixes.

NOTE: Due to changes in daylight saving time in 2007, after this update has been applied, Microsoft recommends that you also install a secondary update to accurately set some Date and Time fields that may be affected by the change that are not addressed in this update. For more information on this issue and to download the update, please refer to the following Knowledge Base article:

Known issues

After you install this update, you must reset Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS). To do this, follow these steps:

Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
At the command prompt, type iisreset, and then press ENTER.
After the reset is complete, type exit at the command prompt, and then press ENTER.

To determine the version of the files that are installed on the computer, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

Click Start, and then click Search.
In the Search Results window, click All files and folders in the Search Companion pane.
In the All or part of the file name box, type the name of the file, and then click Search.
In the list of files, right-click the name of the file, and then click Properties.
On the Version tab, examine the version of the file that is installed on the computer.

Features for reinstalling specific components for administrators

If you update your installation point and then recache and reinstall Windows SharePoint Services, you can run a command line that includes the REINSTALL=[list of features] property. This property specifies whether you want to reinstall specific components of Windows SharePoint Services from the installation point. For this update, the value for [list of features] is as follows:
