Symptoms of the problem

The Mail button is not in the toolbar in Windows Internet Explorer 7.

In Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, you may have used the Mail button to read mail, to send a link in an e-mail message, or to send a Web page in an e-mail message.

Steps to resolve the problem

To resolve this problem, use any of the following methods.

Method 1: Add the Read Mail button to the toolbar

You can use the Read Mail button to open your e-mail program. In the e-mail program, you can create a new e-mail message.
1.Start Internet Explorer 7.
2.On the toolbar, click Tools, point to Toolbars, and then click Customize.
3.In the Customize Toolbar dialog box, click Read Mail under Available toolbar buttons, click Add, and then click Close.

Note After you add the Read Mail button, you may have to resize the toolbar to see the button. If you cannot resize the toolbar, it may be locked. To unlock the toolbar, click Tools on the toolbar, point to Toolbars, and then click Lock the Toolbars to unlock the toolbar.

Method 2: Use the "Send a Link" feature

You can use the "Send a Link" feature to send a link to the current Web page in an e-mail message.
1.Start Internet Explorer 7.
2.On the toolbar, click Page, and then click Send Link by Email.

Method 3: Use the "Send a Page by E-mail" feature

You can use the "Send a Page by E-mail" feature to insert the current Web page into an e-mail message.
1.Start Internet Explorer 7.
2.On the toolbar, click Page, and then click Send Page by Email.
