Error message when you try to create a workspace from an archive in Groove 2007: "You cannot accept invitations from earlier Groove versions"

When you try to create a workspace from an archive in Microsoft Office Groove 2007, you may receive the following error message:

This issue occurs because Groove 2007 is configured to restore or join only workspaces from Groove 2007 or later versions. An earlier version of Groove was used to create the archive.

To resolve this issue, configure Groove 2007 to restore and join workspaces that were created in earlier versions of Groove. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Start Groove 2007.
2. On the Options menu, click Preferences.
3. Click the Security tab.
4. In the Workspace Restrictions section, click to clear the Restore or join only Microsoft Office Groove 2007 (or later) workspaces check box.
5. Click OK.

If you are a managed Groove user, the domain can also restrict your new workspaces to Groove 2007 versions. If you continue to receive this error, the Groove management domain administrator must configure the workspace acceptance policy to enable earlier versions. To do this, the administrator must follow these steps:

1. From the Groove Manager Administrative Web site, click the domain name to expand the domain.
2. Expand Identity Policy Templates, and then select the policy template that applies to the affected member.
3. On the Member Policies page, in the Workspace Version Policies section, make sure that Minimum Workspace Version under Workspace Acceptance and Restoration Policy is set to Client Default or No Minimum.

If you have this version restriction enabled and you try to accept an invitation to a workspace that was created in an older version, you will receive the following error message:
