When you use the Microsoft System Information utility (Msinfo32.exe) on a Windows Vista-based computer, the system information that is displayed does not include information about an installed Microsoft Office application.
The Microsoft System Information utility provides information about the version of Office that is installed on the computer. In Microsoft Windows XP and in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, this utility provides information about the following versions of Office:
- Microsoft Office 2000
- Microsoft Office XP
- Microsoft Office 2003
- The 2007 Microsoft Office release
To see Microsoft System Information in Office 2000, in Office XP, in Office 2003, and in 2007 Office programs that do not use the Ribbon, follow these steps:
- In any program, click About program on the Help menu.
- Click System Information.
To see Microsoft System Information in 2007 Office programs that use the Ribbon, follow these steps:
- In any program, click the Microsoft Office button, and then click program options.
- Click Resources, and then click About program.
- Click System Information.
