SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. In a Microsoft Office Word 2007 document, you set formatting restrictions and editing restrictions. Specifically, you set the editing restriction that a user can only fill in forms. In this scenario, you cannot import the document into Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007.

Steps to reproduce the problem

1.Start Word 2007.
2.On the Review tab, click Protect Document in the Protect group, and then click Restrict Formatting and Editing.
3.Under Editing restrictions, click to select the Allow only this type of editing in the document check box.
4.In the list of editing restrictions, click Filling in forms.
5.Under Start enforcement, click Yes, Start Enforcing Protection.
6.Enter your password, and then click OK.
7.Save and then close the document.
8.In InfoPath 2007, open a form template in design mode.
9.On the File menu, click Import Form.
10.In the Import Wizard, click InfoPath importer for Word documents, and then click Next.
11.Locate the file that you saved in step 7, and then click Finish.
