Narrator does not read a Help topic when you press CTRL+SHIFT+SPACEBAR in a 2007 Office program

SYMPTOMS

You use Microsoft Narrator. When you press CTRL+SHIFT+SPACEBAR in a Help topic in a 2007 Microsoft Office program, Narrator does not read the Help topic as expected. Instead, Narrator reads only the title of the topic.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the Table of Contents pane is open in Microsoft Office program Help.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, close the Table of Contents pane, and then press CTRL+SHIFT+SPACEBAR.

To close the Table of Contents pane in Microsoft Office program Help, perform one of the following actions:
  • Click Close in the Table of Contents pane.
  • Click Hide Table of Contents on the Standard toolbar.
