SUMMARY

This article describes how to renew a Zune Pass subscription.

MORE INFORMATION

You can renew or modify your Zune Pass subscription through the Zune software or by visiting the Zune Web site.

If you subscribed to Zune Pass by using a credit card, your subscription will be automatically renewed for the same duration as the original subscription by using the credit card that is on file on your renewal date. However, you can also use the following methods to modify your Zune Pass subscription.

To access the Account Management options, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Use the Zune software

  1. Start the Zune software.
  2. If you are not signed in, click Sign In in the upper-right corner of the screen, and then log on by using your Windows Live ID.
  3. Click Settings, and then click Account.
  4. Click My Account.

Note The Account Management screen opens. On this screen, you can view the status of your current Zune Pass.
  5. To renew your Zune Pass, click Zune Pass, and then follow the prompts on the screen.

Method 2: Visit the Zune Web site

  1. Visit the following Zune Web site:
    http://www.zune.net (http://www.zune.net)
  2. If you are not signed in, click Sign In, and then sign in to your account.
  3. Under your Zune tag, select My Account.
Note The Account Management screen opens. On this screen, you can view the status of your current Zune Pass.
  4. To renew your Zune Pass, click Zune Pass, and then follow the prompts on the screen.
  5. On the Update Your Zune Subscription page, you can select from the following options:
    • Redeem Code
Select this option if you are using a prepaid card to renew your subscription.
    • Zune Pass - 1 month
Select this option if you want to change your current subscription level from a 3-month pass to a 1-month pass.
    • Zune Pass - 3 month
Select this option if you want to change your current subscription level from a 1-month pass to a 3 month pass.
    • Cancel Subscription – Select this option to cancel your Zune Pass subscription.
Note Your media usage rights for the content that you obtained through the Zune subscription will expire when your subscription ends.
Important You can modify your subscription before your renewal date. If you are modifying your current Zune Pass subscription, your changes will not be reflected on your account until the term of your current subscription has expired.
If you subscribe to Zune Pass by using a pre-paid card, your subscription is for the term of the card that you purchased. For example, if you purchased a 1-month pre-paid card, your subscription is renewed for a 1-month term. As a pre-paid customer you do not have to use a credit card to set up a subscription. A pre-paid subscription cannot be automatically renewed because a payment instrument is not on file.
