Error message when you try to view a Visio drawing in an e-mail message in Outlook 2007: "This file cannot be previewed"

In Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, you receive a Microsoft Office Visio drawing as an attachment to an e-mail message. When you try to view the Visio drawing in the e-mail message, you may receive the following error message:

This issue can occur if one of the following conditions is true:

• You uninstall Microsoft Office Visio 2007 after you install a 2007 Microsoft Office suite or Outlook 2007.
• You uninstall Visio Viewer 2002 or Visio Viewer 2003 after you install a 2007 Office suite or Outlook 2007.

When you uninstall Visio 2007 or a Visio Viewer add-on for Internet Explorer, the Setup program does not remove the Microsoft Office Visio Viewer 2007 program. However, the Setup program does affect the registry entries for Visio Viewer 2007

If either Visio Viewer 2002 or Visio Viewer 2003 is installed before you install a 2007 Office suite or Outlook 2007, the older viewer program will not be removed. However, Visio Viewer 2007 will be installed and then used to open Visio files (drawings, stencils, and templates) instead of using the older version of the viewer program. If Visio Viewer 2002 or Visio Viewer 2003 is later removed, the same problem may occur. In this situation, the 2007 Office suite or Outlook 2007 must be repaired again.
