SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 or in BizTalk Server 2006 R2, you may receive an error message that resembles the following when you try to enlist two orchestrations at the same time:

Event Source: XLANG/s
Event Category: None
Event ID: 0

Description:
ArgumentException exception occurred while the XLANG/s runtime enlisted a service.
Error message: Value does not fall within the expected range.

This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • You try to enlist the orchestrations in the BizTalk Server Administration Console or through the ExplorerOM object model.
  • Each orchestration is bound to a different host.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

There are two versions of this hotfix:
  • BizTalk Server 2006
  • BizTalk Server 2006 R2
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
