SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You try to install a 2007 Microsoft Office suite or a 2007 Office program on a computer. This computer does not have an earlier version of a Microsoft Office suite or program already installed. In this scenario, you may be prompted to click Upgrade or to click Customize even though you do not have an earlier version of a Office suite or program already installed.

Note If you click Customize, you are prompted to click one of the following options:
  • Remove previous versions of Microsoft Office OneNote.
  • Keep all previous versions.
Regardless of the option or options that you select, if you continue and complete the installation, the 2007 Office suite or program is installed successfully.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if you have Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 installed. This issue does not prevent the installation of the 2007 Office suite or program.

Note If you click Upgrade, OneNote 2003 is not removed.
