The Microsoft Office Document Image Writer printer driver and the OneNote 2007 printer driver in Word 2007 and in OneNote 2007 are not installed on a computer that is running a 64-bit operating system

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You run one of the 2007 Microsoft Office programs that are listed in the "Applies to" section on a computer that is running a 64-bit operating system.

For example, the computer is running the 64-bit version of Windows XP Professional or the 64-bit version of Windows Vista. In this scenario, you may experience one or both of the following symptoms:
  • When you try to print, the Microsoft Office Document Image Writer printer and the Send To OneNote 2007 printer are not installed.
  • If you try to use the Internet Fax feature in Microsoft Office Word 2007, you receive the following error message:
    This feature is not available on 64-bit operating systems.
    Note To locate the Internet Fax feature, click the Microsoft Office Button, and then point to Send.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Microsoft Office Document Image Writer printer driver is not installed on a computer that is running a 64-bit operating system.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

Note Currently, you cannot install either printer driver on a computer that is running a 64-bit operating system.
