An Excel chart is blank when you apply a custom chart template in a 2007 Office program

You create a custom chart template in Microsoft Office Excel 2007. When you apply the custom chart template to an Excel chart in a 2007 Microsoft Office program, the link to the chart data is broken. Additionally, the chart is blank.

To work around this issue, follow these steps:

1. Select the chart.
2. On the Design tab, click Edit Data in the Data group.
