SUMMARY

This article describes how to play a system link game in Halo 2 on an original Xbox console and on an Xbox 360 console.

MORE INFORMATION

System link information

You can use system link play to connect two or more original Xbox or Xbox 360 consoles together to play a multiplayer match. The original Xbox console and the Xbox 360 console can each support up to 16 consoles for system link play.

When you use an Ethernet hub, you can have any one of the following 16-player combinations:
  • 16 players who are using 16 consoles (one player per console)
  • 16 players who are using eight consoles (two players per console)
  • 16 players who are using four consoles (four players per console)

We recommend that you have an Xbox LIVE account so that you can obtain the latest auto-updates for Halo 2. If one of the consoles does not have the latest auto-update, players who use that console may not be able to join a system link game.
