Review form buttons are disabled after an assigned role member clicks "Claim Task" and then clicks the Approve button in SharePoint Server 2007

SYMPTOMS

When an assigned role member opens a document, clicks Claim Task, and then clicks the Approve button in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, the buttons on the Review form are disabled. This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • User A submits a new document that includes a Group Approval workflow in a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 document library.
  • User B opens the document, clicks Claim task, and then clicks Approve to open the Review form.
  • User B clicks Release task to release the task, clicks OK to save the task, and then closes the Review form.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do not save the task after you click Release task. If you have encountered this problem, cancel the existing Group Approval workflow, and then resubmit the document.
