On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you try to use the SC tool (Sc.exe) to shut down the service for the BizTalk host instance in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006, you may receive an error message that resembles the following: ControlService FAILED 1053:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. This problem occurs when a Microsoft Message Queuing receive location is enabled in BizTalk Server 2006. Additionally, an error message that resembles the following may be logged in the System log: Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7011 Description: Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the BTSSvc$BizTalkServerApplication service. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem can occur if the Message Queuing adapter is not initialized correctly or if the SC tool cannot find the Message Queuing service that is running on the computer that is running BizTalk Server 2006.
