Error message when you try to publish a new blog post in Word 2007: "Word cannot publish this post"

SYMPTOMS

When you try to publish a new blog post in Microsoft Office Word 2007, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Word cannot publish this post.
To verify the error message that you receive, press Ctrl+Shift+I. The following number is displayed in the lower-right corner of the error message dialog box:

CAUSE

This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • The blog post contains multiple categories.
  • The blog service provider with which you try to publish the blog post supports one category.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, set the first category to the category that you want. Then, set the other categories to none. To set a category to none, click the category that you want to change, and then click none.
