Additionally, the following messages may be logged in the installation log: Message 1 Message 2 Message 3 The following error messages are logged in the passive node of the installation log:Error message 1 MSI (s) (2C!BC) [23:38:33:530]: Product: Microsoft SQL
Server 2005 (64-bit) -- Error 29530. Failed to set registry settings for server
network libraries. The action is SetDefaults. The error is 11001 (No such host
is known.) Error message 2 Error 29530. Failed to set registry settings for server network
libraries. The action is SetDefaults. The error is 11001 (No such host is
known.) CAUSEThis problem may occur when DNS resolution of the cluster
virtual server name fails. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, add the virtual server host
name and the associated IP address to the LMOSTS file
on the local computer. The LMHOSTS file is located in the
following folder: %SystemRoot%\System32\Drivers\Etc Note This method is a temporary workaround. We recommend that you investigate the cause of the DNS resolution failure, and then resolve the failure. | Article Translations
