In fact, there is no real corruption of the disk. The disc appears to be corrupted because the full format is still going-on in the media disc. You can wait for about 20-60 minutes for the media to finish formatting, and then the media disc becomes usable again and the media disc is formatted completely. SYMPTOMS
When you insert a blank unformatted DVD-RAM disc into a supported DVD-RAM drive on a Windows Vista-based computer, you are not prompted to format the disc. You cannot format the unformatted DVD-RAM disc in Windows Vista.
