SYMPTOMS

When you try to install one of the following applications, the installation fails:
  • ProClarity Desktop Professional 6.2
  • ProClarity KPI Designer
  • ProClarity Business Reporter for Excel
  • ProClarity Selector
This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • You try to install the application by performing a silent installation.
  • The installation file is not a Microsoft Windows Installer package.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the silent installation process tries to write a log file to a read-only location. Typically, this issue occurs when you try to perform a silent installation by using an installation file that is in a read-only location. The read-only location may be a CD or a read-only shared folder.

RESOLUTION

Before you perform the silent installation, copy the installation file to a writable location.
